Mim gets hospital

Mim (B/A), Nov. 13, GNA- A new hospital built by the Ahmadiyya Mission had been commissioned at Mim in Asunafo North District of the Brong Ahafo.

Maulvi Dr. Wahab Adam, head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in Ghana and the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Mr. Ignatius Baffour-Awuah jointly commissioned the facility.

They called on religious organizations and traditional authorities to collaborate efforts towards the development of the people. Mr. Baffour-Awuah said government would formulate pragmatic health policies towards the improvement of health in the country. He said government initiated the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to help reduce poverty amongst the people to enhance the socio-economic development of the country.

Mr. Baffour-Awuah commended the Ahmadiyya Mission and Mim community for collaborating efforts to build the hospital.

The Regional Minister asked management of Asunafo NHIS to add the new hospital to its list of service providers to enable it provide efficient service to the people.

Maulvi Adam noted that ailments were part of Allah's plans and it behoved humanity to manage them when they occurred. The Brong-Ahafo Regional Director of Ghana Health Service, Alhaj Dr. Mohammed Bin Ibrahim, announced that the hospital was the seventh to be built by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission in Ghana after those at Asokore and Kokofu in the Ashanti Region, Kaleo in Upper West Region, Daboase in Western Region and Techiman in Brong Ahafo Region. He commended the Mission for ranking next to the Catholic Church in the provision of mission hospitals. Alhaj Dr. Ibrahim noted that the introduction of the NHIS had brought much relief to Ghanaians with a significant rise in out-patient attendance, making it easier for many people to access basic health care.

He commended the chief and people of Mim for releasing the offices of the Mim Traditional Council for use by the hospital thanked Ayum Forest Products Limited and Scanstyle Limited, both based in the town for refurbishing the facility.

Nana Dr. Okofrobour Yaw Adjei II, President of the Mim Traditional Council, thanked the Ahmadiyya Mission for building the hospital. He called on management and staff of the hospital to regularly maintain the facility. Mallam Issah Mensah, a representative of the Ahmadiyya Jamat, thanked the Mission for the project and pledged Jamat's continued support for development projects in the area.
