The Cancer Support Network Ghana (CSNG), in partnership with Beautiful Beneath, has held a Breast Cancer screening for over 300 people at the Jehovah Witness Church premises in Kosoa, Accra.

The event educated the women on breast cancer and also offered support for those with the disease.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Ms Juliet Gyamfi, the Chief Executive Officer of Beautiful Beneath pledged her unflinching commitment to support CSNG with all the needed resources for persons living with breast cancer in the country.

“It has been a successful programme and we were able to educate and screen people today. We are happy to embark on such exercise. We are going to make sure they go through the next stage of treatment and if there is any financial support we are ready to do that.”

She said plans were far advanced to embark on lung cancer awareness exercise this month.

“In October, we did a lot of education on Breast Cancer and we decided to do a follow up to screen more. The ratio of people dying from breast cancer is becoming huge. Beautiful Beneath, this month of November, will also embark on lung cancer education and awareness,” she added.

Ms Ramatu Sumani, the Organizer of CSNG, said her the organization will do it best to support breast cancer victims and do more education on the disease “since most people erroneously attribute it to spirituality.”

“We screened a large number of people today. We are supporting cancer victims with financial support and many others. We’ve had lots of cases today and realised that many of them were not going for check-ups thinking that it was a spiritual attack.“

Beautiful Beneath is a dealer in unisex sport wears for gym workout and body exercise. The sport swear company will be celebrating its one-year anniversary at it’s premises in East Legon, near the A&C Shopping Mall.
