Adaklu-Anyigbe (V/R), Feb. 16, GNA - Hundreds of parents in the Adaklu-Anyigbe District on Thursday expressed the wish to be de-wormed together with their children after a doctor had explained to the safety of the drug.

Dr. John Eleeza, the District Director of the Ghana Health Service, explained to the community the morale behind the exercise and the safety of the drug.

The parents, who expressed regret at their earlier attack on teachers for allegedly poisoning their children, apologized to the Ghana Education Service and asked for the drug for themselves and their children.

They attributed the over reaction to lack of information before the exercise.

The parents consequently appealed to the government to go ahead with the exercise and requested that they (the parents) also be partakers in the exercise.

Mr Mawuli Kwame Dabi, the Adaklu-Anyigbe District Chief Executive, said the exercise was not meant for adults and advised them to visit pharmacies for the drug.

He stated that the government has good thoughts for Ghanaians and would not do anything against their well being and took the drug to demonstrate its safety.

The DCE later hoisted the National Flag at the Assembly Square to mark the " Rally around the flag" and called on school children to be disciplined and ready to serve the district and the nation.
