The Anglican Diocese of Accra in collaboration with the Anglican Relief and Development Fund, (ARDF) USA, has handed over a medical facility worth 60,000 dollars to the Pokuase community, in the Ga West Municipality.

Canon William Deiss, Executive Director of ARDF, commended members of the community including the opinion leaders for providing the needed support leading to the successful completion of the project.

He said ARDF would continue to provide medical assistance to the people to ensure their good health.

Dr Daniel Sylvanus Mensah Torto, Archbishop of the Anglican Diocese of Accra, said the provision of the health facility formed part of the social responsibility of the Church.

He said apart from winning souls for Christ, the Anglican Church undertook many developmental projects across the country for the benefit of mankind.

He urged management of the medical facility to manage it well, in order to serve its intended purpose.

Dr Doris Arhin, Municipal Director of Health Service, gave the assurance the assurance that the health facility would be used to render quality service to the community.

She said the Pokuase community has a very huge population and the medical facility would help cater for the health needs of the people, especially women and children.

She announced that the facility would be manned by a physician assistant with the help of the Anglican medical team.

She said accounts would be rendered to the community and the Church every quarter of the year.

Dr Arhin said, some of the services to be provided at the medical facility include laboratory services, maternity, child welfare clinic, family planning and out-patient-department services.

She urged members of the community to patronise the facility.

In a speech read on his behalf, Mr Attorquaye Quaye, Municipal Chief Executive, commended the Anglican Church for complementing the work of government through its social services.

He urged other religious organisations to emulate the Church to improve upon the state of development in the Municipality and the country at large.
