He gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Regenerating Health and Nutrition Programme at Takoradi. He said many people consumed too much fatty foods, animal products, sugar and salt instead of fruits, vegetable and plant-based foods. Mr Wunu said it is recommended that adults eat at least five to seven portions of fruits and vegetables a day. They should also drink eight to 10 glasses of water a day in addition to high fibre foods to eliminate waste and toxic materials in the body. Mr Wunu said meals should be eaten three to four hours before going to bed and excessive drinking and smoking should be avoided. He said people should not wait until they are thirsty before taking in water because at that time the body is already in "Crisis". Mr Wunu urged the people to undertake stretching exercises for about 10 minutes before the vigorous exercises, which should be done at their own pace and at least three times a week. 14 Jan 09
