Some 600 engaged under health extension module in Upper West.

Wa, Jan 24, GNA - Mr Michael Oduro-Kwarteng, the Deputy National Coordinator of the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP), on Wednesday appealed to all stakeholders in the health extension workers module of the (NYEP) to cooperate and collaborate to make the programme a success.

He said this at a day's orientation workshop organized jointly by the Ministry of Manpower, Youth and Employment and the Ministry of Health for stakeholders in the implementation of the programme in the Upper West Region at Wa.

About 24 participants from the eight districts in the region including district directors of health service, district youth employment coordinators and some district chief executives attended the workshop.

Mr Oduro-Kwarteng called for better understanding and good relations among the stakeholders because this was vital if they were to achieve their common goal of contributing to the promotion of the health of Ghanaians.

Mr Oduro-Kwarteng later told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that about 600 health extension workers in the region are to be employed under the programme.
