The St. John Hospital and Fertility Center has donated an ambulance to the Ghana Prisons Service as part of their social responsibility to the country.
Procurement of an ambulance in Ghana has become a major issue following the over-dependence on limited vehicles to convey sick people from their various locations to hospital or during transfers.
Many lives have been lost in the past due to the unavailability of vehicles to transport them from one place to the other, although government have been blamed to a large extent many have called on corporate bodies to take up the issue and render a service which will grant life to many people.
However, on Wednesday, August 21 the team from St. John Hospital and Fertility Center under the leadership of the acting CEO, Madam Maame Yaa Antwi came to the aid of the Ghana Prisons Service who have had difficulties transporting sick inmates to hospitals.
In appreciation for the life-saving ambulance, members of Director General in charge of Prisons thanked the team for the donation and added that “the donation is timely as most of the health facilities have been upgraded without an ambulance service.”
This is the second donation exercise the St. John Hospital and Fertility Center has taken in 2019 after previously donating an ambulance to the Ghana Immigration Service to help health care delivery service.
