Technical Group meets to advance guidelines for Free Primary Health Care policy

The Ghana Health Service has convened a national Technical Working Group meeting to advance the development of implementation guidelines for the government’s proposed Free Primary Health Care initiative.

The engagement forms part of preparations towards the nationwide rollout of the policy, which is aimed at removing financial barriers to healthcare and strengthening primary health care delivery across the country.

According to the Service, the meeting brought together key stakeholders from across the health sector to contribute to the operationalisation of the initiative.

Participants discussed strategies and practical steps required to effectively implement the policy and ensure that primary healthcare services become more accessible to communities nationwide.

The initiative forms part of Ghana’s broader commitment to achieving Universal Health Coverage by ensuring that citizens can access essential health services without facing financial hardship.
