Staff of the Human Resources, Facilities and Administration Department of Tullow Ghana Limited have donated cartons of powdered milk and a cheque for GH¢10,000.00 to the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital in Accra.

The donation was presented to the Nutrition and Dietetics Department of the Hospital.

Dr Ernest Nagali, Tullow Health Advisor, said the gesture is in accordance with Tullow’s commitment to helping the less privileged in the society.

He said it is important to make such donations to hospitals where we have the most vulnerable people; where even a cedi could make a difference in their lives.

Dr Nagali expressed hope that the donation will contribute to the recovery of the poor children.

Dr Eric Sefa, Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, said such donations are essential to the Hospital’s fight in preventing malnourishment among children.

He said feeding malnourished children has become a burden on the hospital as it is done free of charge and, therefore, the donation would help minimise the burden.

Mr Sefa said part of the money received would be used in settling debts of some patients not covered by the health insurance scheme.
