Unemployed Graduate Nurses have threatened to picket at the premises of the Ministry of Health (MoH) in Accra following government’s failure to include them in a recent recruitment list.

According to the irate group which is set to demonstrate on Wednesday September 14, 2016, several attempts to have MoH respond to their concerns have proven futile.

They indicated that the ministry has over a month refused to work on their clearance, saying they are being deceived because no concrete documents prove that the ministry is working on their clearance as claimed.

The group numbering One Thousand and Thirty-One (1,031) warned they will stay there till dusk to compel government to post them to the various health facilities in the country.

In an interview with Ultimatefmonline.com, the Chairman of the group, Benson Amoako indicated that they will not rest until government heeds to their call.

Mr. Benson complained that members of the group are faced with financial difficulty and that they have become dependents on their families.

‘We live in a country where even the working class are struggling to survive, so we have become another burden to society. We have some of our colleagues who graduated way back in 2011 and are still home,’ he explained.

He wondered why the government is dragging its feet when hospitals are grossly under-staffed.

The group consists of graduates from all universities both private and public that run nursing programmes including University of Health and Allied Sciences in Ho.
