The Ministry of Food and Agricultural (MoFA) on Friday announced that from August 31, 2014 the Veterinary Services Directorate (VSD) would be the only authorised institution to register veterinary drugs and biologicals in Ghana.
A statement signed by the MoFA in Accra on Friday and signed by Mr Siaw-Otu Frank, Public Relations Officer, said all importers of Veterinary drugs and biologicals are required to register their companies with the VSD.
It said all importers of Veterinary drugs and biologicals should obtain their temporary import permit from the VSD.
“All distributors and retailers are to register with the VSD”, the statement added.
According to the statement, these measures were in pursuance of the directorate’s vision of ensuring adequate animal health delivery system in the country and also to implement the guidelines and protocols on the veterinary pharmacy in accordance with the Economic Community of West African States.
