The Vodafone Ghana Foundation has donated GH¢40,000.00 to the Cardiothoracic Centre of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital to support its activities.
The Foundation also donated GH¢99,000.00 to the Anatomy Department of the School of Biomedical and Allied Health Sciences to help improve teaching and learning.
Mr Gayheart Mensah, Head of External Affairs at Vodafone Ghana, said the issue of health was always critical to the telecom operator, hence the support.
He said the Foundation would continue to support education, health and other social issues in the country.
He said Vodafone would also continue to introduce innovative products that would help to promote healthy living among the people.
Dr Lawrence Agyeman Sereboe, Director of the National Cardiothoracic Centre, commended the Vodafone Foundation for the support.
He said there were many patients suffering from heart related diseases who were in need of help and urged other organisations to emulate the kind gesture of the Vodafone Foundation.
Reverend Professor Patrick F. Ayeh-Kumi, Dean of the School of Biomedical and Allied Health Sciences, said even though the Anatomy Department admitted many students, the laboratory could hardly contain the number during practical works.
He, therefore, commended the Vodafone Foundation for the support, saying it would help put the laboratory in a good shape.
