Accra Poly Alumni holds Health Walk

Accra, Oct. 27, GNA - The President of the Accra Polytechnic Alumni Association, Mr Cornelius Dzikunoo has appealed to the government to engage more lecturers for tertiary institutions enable them effectively play their assigned roles.

Mr Dzikunoo said that for any institution to grow there was the need to be fully equipped with the requisite manpower personnel without which it would be difficult for any form of development to take place. The President of the Alumni made the call at the end of the maiden Health Walk of the Accra Polytechnic Alumni Association in Accra on Saturday.

The two-hour walk which started from the El-Wak Stadium in Accra through the Military Hospital to the Ako Adjei Interchange through the National Theatre and ended at the school's campus. The Walk was aimed at creating awareness amongst the members for them to join the Association and also to maintain healthy lifestyles through frequent exercises.

Mr Dzikunoo said the Association has supported the school with many infrastructure projects including the provision of potable water as well as the construction of a number of lecturer's bungalow, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year. The President announced that the Association would embark on a tour of the other regions in a membership drive to form and inaugurate branches of the Association.

Mr Dzikunoo advised students to take their lessons serious and abstain from all form of nefarious activities likely to ruin their future career and upbringing. About 200 members of the Association took part in the Walk.
