Assembly supports health Insurance scheme

Saltpond, Nov. 20, GNA - The Mfantseman Municipal Assembly has provided office accommodation, furniture and computers to the Municipal Mutual Health Insurance Scheme at Saltpond. The items, costing about GHc5, 000 are to facilitate the work of the scheme and to ensure efficiency. Mr. Frank Neequaye, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Scheme, commended the assembly and the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Robert Quainoo-Arthur, for his support for the scheme. Mr. Neequaye told the GNA in an interview that Mr Quainoo-Arthur was the backbone of the success story of the scheme in the municipality. "In fact, Mr. Quainoo-Arthur has made a lot of donations in the form of cash, materials and given words of advice in running the scheme." Mr. Godfrey Gyebi Arthur, the Scheme Manager, said the scheme had been able to make giant strides in the registration and issuance of cards to clients due to the assistance from the assembly. He said the scheme had covered over 70 per cent of the population in the municipality. 20 Nov 08
