Busunya (B/A), June 11, GNA - Dr. Donatus Achisiba, Nkoranza North District Director of Health, has expressed concern about the lack of a hospital in the area.

He said major cases at the five health centres in the district were referred to Saint Theresa's Catholic Hospital at Nkoranza. Dr. Achisiba raised the concern in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after Mrs. Lordina Mahama, Second Lady presented medical items to the health centre at Busunya.

The items were made up of drugs, 10 blankets, 50 nurses' uniforms, 19 clutches, two wheel chairs, two beds with mattresses, five rollators, 10 seats pillows, tow toilet chairs and eight baskets.

Dr. Achibisa noted that the items were very useful and important for the health facility and thanked the Second Lady for the gesture. He said the district was in dire need of a hospital to serve the basic health needs of the people, who are mainly farmers. Dr. Achisiba expressed concern about the poor state of the Busunya-Nkoranza road, which he said sometimes led to the untimely death of sick persons being conveyed to Nkoranza for medical attention. He appealed to the government to ensure that the people were provided with a hospital to cater for their health needs.
