As part of a retreat aimed at strengthening the health sector, the Minister of Health Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has tasked the management of the Ministry and its agencies to work in line with the implementation of the ruling governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) manifesto.

Speaking during the retreat on January 12, 2026, he emphasised that the manifesto outlines key health sector reforms and priority interventions aimed at improving access, coordination and service delivery nationwide.

According to him, aligning institutional plans and activities with these policy commitments is crucial to meeting public expectations and accelerating sector performance.

The minister further stressed that “the Two-day retreat serves as a strategic platform for reviewing progress and reorienting the Ministry and agencies towards new targets for 2026 and beyond.”

He encouraged participants to demonstrate renewed commitment, inter-agency collaboration and accountability as they collectively drive the government’s health agenda and deliver improved outcomes for citizens.
