The Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has paid a working visit to the Upper East and North East Regions as part of efforts to ensure that newly posted doctors accept and remain at their duty stations across the country.

The visit forms part of the government’s strategy to address challenges associated with doctor deployment, particularly in underserved regions where access to healthcare professionals remains limited.

During the engagement, the minister is meeting Regional, Municipal and District Chief Executives, as well as health workers, to mobilise the necessary institutional and community support systems for the newly posted doctors.

The initiative is expected to improve working conditions, enhance retention and strengthen healthcare delivery in the Upper East and North East Regions, as well as other deprived areas.
