Paskal A B Rois is Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia to Ghana
Very soon, Ghana will produce its first vaccine.
This was disclosed by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia to Ghana, Paskal A B Rois, popularly known as Togbe Afrika, who indicated that the Indonesian government is supporting Ghana’s National Vaccine Institute in establishing a vaccine manufacturing capacity.
According to Rois, while spaking in an interview with GHOne TV and monitored by GhanaWeb, a delegation led by Dr Soji Tetteh visited Indonesia in the latter part of 2025 to finalise the arrangements.
He added that representatives from GIZ also joined the mission.
“Ghana is also receiving support from Indonesia. The president made mention of this during his recent State of the Nation Address. Indonesia is supporting Ghana to manufacture its first-ever vaccine. The Indonesian government is assisting the National Vaccine Institute in this effort.
"I led Dr Soji Tetteh to Indonesia together with Dr Pupuni from the FDA, the CEO and COO of the local company that will be manufacturing the vaccine — David Pulcher — and a representative from GIZ, Jaspa. I led them to Indonesia in the latter part of last year to finalise the arrangements, and it was successful,” he said in the interview.
Rois also emphasised that the partnership reflects the strong diplomatic and economic ties between Ghana and Indonesia, stating that “Very soon, Ghana will come out with its first vaccine,” he said, noting that Ghana will become the third country in Africa to produce vaccines, after Senegal and South Africa.
He expressed confidence that Ghana could eventually surpass existing producers on the continent.
