The Enforcement Team of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has confiscated several unregistered products during an operation at the Porials Pitch 3 event held in Accra.
The exercise, according to the FDA, forms part of efforts to protect public health and prevent unsuspecting consumers from being exposed to potentially harmful products.
Porials Pitch 3, an event hosted by popular Snapchat influencer Dulcie Boateng, took place on April 18, 2026, at the Accra Mall GHUD Park. The event attracted a large number of vendors and patrons, with a variety of products on display for sale.

However, during routine surveillance, the FDA’s Enforcement Team identified and seized several products that had not been registered in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Officials indicated that the presence of unregistered items poses a significant risk to public health, as such products have not undergone the necessary safety, quality and efficacy assessments mandated by the Authority.
The FDA emphasised that all products, particularly consumables and cosmetics, must be duly registered before being introduced onto the Ghanaian market.
The Authority further noted that it will continue to intensify monitoring and enforcement activities at public events and commercial centres to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
While the FDA did not immediately disclose the specific types or quantities of products seized, it reiterated its commitment to safeguarding consumers and maintaining strict oversight of goods sold within the country.
Event organisers and vendors have also been urged to adhere strictly to FDA regulations to avoid sanctions.
