Ghana Medical Trust Fund strikes strategic partnership with GBC

For generations, the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) has been a trusted voice in the homes of Ghanaians, informing, educating and connecting people across the country while preserving the rich diversity of our culture. As Ghana’s national broadcaster, its legacy is woven into the history of our nation.



It was therefore a privilege for the Administrator of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, Adjoa Obuobia Darko Opoku, and her team to engage with the Director-General of GBC, Professor Amin Alhassan, and his leadership team to explore a strategic partnership aimed at advancing awareness and education on specialised healthcare in Ghana.

The engagement marks an important step in the Trust Fund’s efforts to ensure that life-saving information reaches every Ghanaian. With six television networks, 17 FM stations, and programming delivered in 27 Ghanaian languages, GBC possesses an unparalleled ability to connect the Trust Fund with communities in every region of the country.

During the meeting, Professor Alhassan pledged GBC’s support in helping bring critical healthcare information closer to the people of Ghana, ensuring that more citizens understand the burden of non-communicable diseases, the public support required and support available through the Ghana Medical Trust Fund.

As the Trust Fund works to expand access to specialised non communicable disease care, partnerships with national institutions such as GBC will be essential in ensuring that no community is left behind.

Key partnerships such as these, we can ensure that the message of care, compassion and access reaches every community, in every language, across Ghana.
