Ghana has no excuse not to eliminate viral hepatitis by 2030

The Hepatitis Alliance of Ghana is calling on all stakeholders, especially the Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service to prioritise viral hepatitis issues to reduce its associated psychological, economic, and social burdens on Ghanaians.

In a press statement on World Hepatitis Day, the group said there was the need to integrate hepatitis related services into the existing HIV structures in various health facilities particularly pre-test counselling and post-test counselling to ensure that hepatitis patients access hepatitis related services and support before and after diagnosis.

This they say will avert the psychological trauma that accompanies hepatitis B positive result.
