As part of Barclays Bank Ghana Limited’s shared growth agenda and in the bid to reach out to the less privileged in society, it has completed and commissioned an ultra-modern clinic for the residents of Trotor, a village near Suhum in the Eastern Region.

The facility, built by the Bank and its partners is aimed at providing quality healthcare to the residents and children of Trotor Baptist School and Orphanage.

Residents of Trotor have been commuting long distances to areas like Suhum and Koforidua to seek health care as they have been denied basic health care facilities.

The residents could now heave some sigh of relieve following the giant step taken by Barclays bank to put up a clinic for the community.

Commissioning the project, Director of Marketing and Corporate Relations for Barclays Bank Ghana, Nana Essilfuah Boison says some years back, Barclays Bank and Blavo and Co Solicitors visited the orphanage and managers of the facility made a passionate appeal for a clinic in the community.

Nana Essilfuah Boison said her outfit was moved by the fact that, there were no regular vehicles to send sick patients because of the long narrow lane to the main road.

She said a number of lives had been lost due to delays in carrying patients with cases like labour and snake bites through the Koforidua-Suhum road for vehicle to a hospital.

She indicated that Barclays raised funds from different sources to build the clinic for the community.

Director and Founder of Baptist School Complex and Orphanage (BASCO), Rev. Victor Ofori-Amoah, expressed appreciation for the gesture of Barclays Bank.

BASCO Community Clinic, he noted, has come about to its fullest culmination after several years of hard work, determination, perseverance and focus.

The facility has a pharmacy, male and female wards, out patients department among many others.
