FDA mini laboratory
The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has revealed plans of establishing mini laboratories at Ghana’s borders to ensure an easy assessment of the quality of regulated products imported into the country.
The move, according to the FDA, is to deepen its enforcement of the Public Health Act 2012, Act 851 to ensure the utmost safety of consumers.
Addressing the media at the opening of its new ultra-modern mini-laboratory situated at the Tema Fishing Harbour, Deputy Minister of Health, Tina Mensah said the lab will check all counterfeit medicines and unwholesome products coming into the country.
She commended the FDA for the initiative but urged the Authority to ensure that the lab serves the purpose for which it was established.
