Biakoye NPP parliamentary aspirant, provides free health screening for over 2000 residents

Over 2,000 residents in the Biakoye Constituency in the Oti Region have benefited from a free health screening exercise organized by the Reach-out Medical Team.

The outreach organized by Reach out Medical Team, provided free diagnosing, counseling and medication to all beneficiaries mostly made up of women and children.

The week-long exercise saw the screening of residents in about 10 communities for various illnesses of which hypertension was identified to be the most dominant illness, with identified with some cases diabetic, hernia among others.

Other beneficiaries who needed to undergo surgery for hernia and other conditions went under the knife of specialist surgeons, who are practicing in Kumasi.

The Founder and Financier of ,Dr Frank Yirenkyi, explained he took inspiration to extend healthcare services to residents from his home constituency after participating in similar outreaches in the northern part of the country.

“I decided to embark on a similar exercise to help my people because you’ll realize that access to healthcare is a major challenge the constituency here”, he said.



“I am happy with the patronage. We have received applications from about 30 communities and we will be visiting all of them.”

Dr Yirenchi who is aspiring to contest the 2020 parliamentary elections on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party assured of dolling out development projects coupled with social intervention programme if given the node to represent the constituents of Biakoye.



He, therefore, urged NPP delegates endorse his candidature, since he’s got a better foresight for the constituency.

Residents who benefited from the outreach appreciated the gesture and lauded Dr Yirenkyi and his team on the initiative.

“I didn’t spend any money here but I am going with medicines to treat my health condition. May God continue to bless Dr [Yirenkyi] and his people”, a beneficiary said.
