The President of the Union of Professional Nurses and Midwives, Ghana (UPNMG), Mr Maxwell Oduro Yeboah, has appealed to the government of Ghana and other authorities in the health sector to pay attention to the welfare of midwives in Ghana.

At the moment, Mr Yeboah said midwives are saddled with a lot of difficulties.

He made the complaint when the union signed an insurance deal with Enterprise Insurance in Accra on Wednesday, 1 July 2020.

The deal is expected to seek the welfare of the members of the union in their education, health and other aspects of life.

Mr Yeboah urged all nurses and midwives to join the union in order to benefit from the insurance packages available.
