Kumasi, Jan. 08, GNA – Aduana Stars on Sunday held Kumasi Asante Kotoko to a pulsating goalless drawn game in their 13th week Glo Premier League match played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi.
Both teams started the match on a fast note after referee William Agbovie whistled for hostilities to begin and it was Kotoko who nearly took the leader in the 14th minute but the chance that came their way was wasted by Kofi Nti Boakye. His feeble shot went straight into the hands of goalkeeper Stephen Adams to the relieve of the visitors.
The Porcupine Warriors continued to pile pressure in an effort to score but the visitors with a packed defence, managed to ward off the attacking machinery led by Nathaniel Asamoah.
It was Aduana who was quick on the attack and with determined spirit matched the over-confident Kotoko players boot for boot in most parts of the exchanges with Bernard Don Bortey wasting two begging chances in the 40th and 44th minutes to end the half goalless.
The trend did not change even in the second half as the game remained a ding-dong battle with each side squandering a number of scoring chances. The two teams exhausted their substitutions but it did not change the score line till the final whistle.
