Mpraeso, Sept. 26, GNA - Visiting AshantiGold on Sunday held Okwahu United to a pulsating goalless drawn game in their outstanding Premier League match at the Mpraeso Brighton's Park.
The match had to be rescheduled to today, Sunday, because it was rained off last week on Sunday and Monday and the match officers had to agree for the match to be rescheduled for Sunday.
An earlier down pour in the day marred the beauty of the game when the soggy field made ball control difficult for the players after Sunyani-based Class One referee, James Quarshie signalled the two teams into action.
AshantiGold pressurised Okwahu United during the early stages of the first halfmaking some incursions into the goal area of the home team but their attackers led by George Eranio, Ofosu Amoah and Opoku Acheampong failed to utilise clear scoring chances in the 58th, 67th and 72nd minutes.
Okwahu United brought in Paul Amponsah and Obed Owusu for Kwabena yaro and Abubakari Yusif while AshantiGolf also brought on their Cameroonian import, Valentine Atem and Ronaldo Amadu for Eranio and Amoah in the77th and 84th minutes.
Okwahu seemed to have benefited from the changes and had the chance to take the lead in the 86th minute, but substitute Yaro shot off target after receiving a direct pass from substitute Amponsah with only the keeper to beat to end the days proceedings.
