Elmina Sharks were held to a 1-1 draw by Liberty Professionals in week 9 of the Ghana Premier League at the Dr. Ndoum Sports complex on Saturday.

Wing wizard Benjamin Tweneboah opened the scoring for Elmina Sharks in the first six minutes of the encounter, as he coolly slotted the ball past Liberty goalkeeper Emmanuel Anim, after some poor defensive marking by the away side defence.

Liberty afterwards mounted pressure on Sharks in search of an equalizer, as they dominated play, but where largely wasteful in-front of goal.

In the second stanza, the Scientific Soccer lads continued from where they left off in the first half, as they increased the pressure on the home side and they got their reward in the 77th minute when veteran striker Ernest Papa Arko long range shot beat goalkeeper Francis Arthur to level the scores.

The home side could have regain their lead in the 88th minute when striker Felix Addo was put through by Benjamin Tweneboah but lost his cool in the box as he blasted the ball into waiting arms of goalkeeper Emmanuel Anum to the dismay of their teeming supporters.
