Kumasi, Aug. 14, GNA - An 81st-minute goal scored by Sumaila Alhassan enabled King Faisal to beat Sekondi Hasaacas 1-0 in their 20th-week GT Premiership match played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday. Faisal playing without Eric Gawu, Ben Wilson and Abubakari Yahuza, their strikers, could not translate the numerous chances that came their way into goals the defence of Hasaacas stood gallantly.
Hasaacas nearly took the lead in the 39th-minute in a counter attack but Daniel Ackah shot wide as Osman Sakora of Faisal also missed a chance in the 41st-minute.
During the second half Faisal came close to scoring in the 46th-minute but a header from Sumaila Alhassan hit the cross bar and went off target.
Both teams exhausted their substitutions and when everything pointed to a goalless drawn game, a corner kick taken by Kwadwo Fosu was headed into the blind side of goalkeeper Michael Addo to break the deadlock in the 81st-minute.
Hasaacas not deterred by the goal, mounted series of attack and nearly equalised but substitute Frank Kumor fumbled in front of goal on the stroke of full time.
