Kumasi, July 20, GNA - Kumasi King Faisal begun the second round of the GT Premier League on a good note when they beat Power FC 3-1 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Wednesday.

Power who showed their determination to at least snatch a point with a draw held Faisal for a greater part of the first half but caved under pressure in the 38th minute when Sumaila Alhassan broke the deadlock with a header to give Faisal the lead.

The goal forced the defense of Power pivoted around Michael Annan and Dennis Ahiador to resort to rough play in the latter part of the first half.

Inspired by the goal, Faisal came into the second half full of vigor and it came as a matter of course when in the 47th minute, skipper Shilla Illiasu delivered a pile driver in a goal-mouth melee to give his side the second goal of the match.

Faisal added their third goal in the 51st minute through Eric Gawu who outpaced Power's Ben Adu Yeboah in a solo effort to beat onrushing goalkeeper Cudjoe Addo.

Power got a consolation goal on the stroke of full time through Thomas Mensah who headed home Joseph Ababio's pass into the net.
