Accra, July 23, GNA - The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has received a plush trophy from Globacom Ghana, sponsors of the just ended Premier League ahead of the coronation game between league winners, Hearts of Oak and city rivals Great Olympics on Sunday. The trophy, which is custom made by Messrs Precise of the United Arab Emirates is crowned by a 110m football made of pure optical crystal sandblasted.
It has a golden aluminum stem cut-out mounted on a clear crystal ball.
Ms Gloria Owusu, Special Relations Manager of Globacom who made the presentation on Thursday to the FA said the trophy which will be given to the Phobians together with a replica that will be kept by the Club was in fulfillment of her outfit's promise to take Ghana football to greater heights.
She said in line with international best practices, three times winners of the League will keep the trophy for good while Globacom commissions a new one.
Kwasi Nyantakyie, President of the GFA who received the trophy said he was convinced the magnificent trophy will be a worthy presentation to the winners. Hearts will additionally receive 40 gold medals, 30 to the playing body and 10 to team officials.
