Essipong, (W/R) June 12, GNA - Sekondi Hasaacas on Wednesday managed a hard fought 2-2 draw with Premier league leaders Kumasi Asante Kotoko in their 24th Week Onetouch Premier League match at the Sekondi Stadium at Essipon.
Kotoko pressurised Hasaacas in search of an early goal after the kick-off but Hasaacas strengthened up their defence and manoeuvred to gain control.
The Porcupine Warriors stepped up their attack but had to wait until the 35th minute before good old Kwadwo Poku was able to score a surprise goal following a defensive blunder by the Hasaacas defenders. Poku fought hard in search of more goals and got an opportunity in the 36th minute but his shot missed the net narrowly.
Sensing danger Hasaacas counter attacked and moved upfront as they controlled the midfield forcing Kotoko into defensive play until the first half ended.
Back from the recess, Hasaacas continued with relentless attack on Kotoko but against the run of play Poku was on target again in the 50th minute to expertly score the second goal for Kotoko.
Still determined to make amends, Hasaacas pushed Kotoko to the wall, paving the way for Isaac Donkor to redeem a goal in the 82nd minute for Hasaacas.
Hasaacas determination paid for them when in the 85th minute they were awarded a penalty which captain Richard Ocran converted beautifully to redeem his side from defeat and ensure they shared the points with Kotoko and bring relief to their teeming fans.
