Hasaacas spilt points with Real Tamale United

Tamale, June 15, GNA- Real Tamale United, (RTU) the 'Pride of the North' once again displayed one of their poorest performance at their home base as they only managed a drawn game with visiting Sekondi Hasaacas to spilt the points in their OneTouch Premier League match played at the Tamale Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The match from the onset was boring as both Clubs played as if they were warming up for a tougher task ahead and not playing for points even though there were occasional threats at goal from both sides with their goalkeepers exhibiting their best antics to save dangerous balls from entering their net.

The match saw a barren first half but in the 63td minute RTU's Kabiru Imoro broke the silence through a spot kick, which he neatly converted.

Seven minutes later Hasaacas were gifted with an equalizer when goalkeeper Najawu Issah failed to come out quickly to make a timely save the ball, which David Anas tapped to slowly roll to hit the back of the net for the needed equalizer in the 70th minute. RTU from then raised the tempo of their game as made several attempts to increase their goal tally but Michael Addo stood between his post and RTU as he ensured that no ball entered his net. His antics at making saves drew huge applause from the home fans and in the dying minutes of time added on he made a last save when he jumped high to parry the ball to a corner, which was wasted before referee Reginald Lathbridge from Kumasi brought the proceedings to an end.

The few fans who had hopes that RTU was going to run over Hasaacas were proved wrong, as the team showed indication that they cannot be easily predicted and to bet on when it mattered most. After beating the current league leader Asante Kotoko a fortnight ago by a lone goal and chalking a feat by defeating Liberty Professionals from three goals down to win the match 4-3, many were those who thought the team had picked form after their humiliating home defeat to Kpando Heart of Lions.

Many of the fans and analysts said Sunday's match was therefore an opportunity for RTU to avenge their anger on Hasaacas since their woes begun in Sekondi when RTU could not honour the match because of clash of jersey and the subsequent reduction of RTU's vital three points.
