Accra Hearts of Oak have been deducted three points as they were declared loses in their match-day 25 encounter against Great Olympics despite winning the match 2-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium back in September.
Hearts were found guilty of violating the statutes of the Ghana Football Association thereby forfeiting the match.
A statement on the Ghana FA website after Wednesday’s Disciplinary Committee rulings reads:
”The protest by Accra Great Olympics is hereby upheld by a majority decision of 3 to 2. Accra Hearts of Oak SC is held to have been in violation of Article 39(8)(e) of the GFA General Regulations in respect of this matter by the club’s use of cheque to make part payment of a fine.
”The scoreline of the match shall be 3-0 in favour of Accra Great Olympics FC in accordance with Article 31 of the GFA Disciplinary Code.”
Despite the ruling in favour of Great Olympics, they still lie in the drop zone and still maintain relegation status as they are set to feature in next season’s Division One League.
