James Boadu wins day for Kessben F/C

Kumasi, Oct. 18, GNA - Visiting Kessben F/C on Sunday coasted home to a 2-1 victory over Kumasi King Faisal F/C in their opening match of the 2009/2010 Glo Premier League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. The win was secured by courtesy of striker James Boadu whose 90th minute strike stunned the home team, throwing their supporters into wild jubilation. The match itself commenced on a vigorous note with Faisal dictating the pace of the game but it was the visitors who drew first blood through Attakora Gyimah in the 16th minute after he connected home a Zufa Yuga in-swinger.

In the second half, Faisal raised up the tempo of their game with some accurate passes, counter attacks and solid midfield play. In one of their incursions upfront, Faisal's Emmanuel Odoi was tripped from behind in the opponent's goal area for a penalty kick which was converted by Ofosu Mickey in the 75th minute to give the home team the needed equalizer. After the equaliser the visitors went all out to snatch the winner and on the stroke of full time the got the ultimate winning goal through Boadu who headed home a Richard Mpong's cross in a counter attack. 18 Oct. 09
