League leaders Kumasi Asante Kotoko and former continental club masters glorious
Accra Hearts of Oak will be making a difficult journey to Dormaa and Obuasi
respectively as the Glo premiership enters 18th week.
The ‘Porcupine Warriors’ Asante Kotoko will trek to the Osagyefo Agyeman Badu Park
to face Aduana stars. Kotoko have stretched their lead on the log from 34 to 37
points whilst Aduana on the other hand is seventh on the table with 25 points.
Coach Maxwell Konadu is gradually building a good-to-remember team for the reds in
Ghana football and would be willing to have a good result in Dormaa in order to keep
their stay at the summit safe before Easter but Aduana are tactically an technically
discipline and will certainly give the fabulous boys a difficult pipe to smoke.
Aduana looks the better side to carrying the three points at stake as they are
always strong playing in front of their vociferous fans but Kotoko can not be scared
with fans and would also like to prove their wealth especially if coach Maxwell
Konadu should get his tactics right.
At the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium, soccer miners Ashantigold fc will welcome Accra
Hearts of Oak in a wit and break affair. Ashgold is eighth on the table with 23
points whiles Hearts is second on the log with 31 points.
Hearts will have a tall mountain to climb as Ashgold are poised to grabbing all the
points at stake. Hearts were unlucky last Sunday as all their effort to picking the
maximum point against Bechem proved futile and if they could psych themselves up
then they can have a good result at Obuasi but if not then the pride of Obuasi will
certainly add to Hearts woes.
New Edubiase united will also travel to the Sekondi Essipong Stadium to play as
guest to Medeama SC. Medeama is 10th on the log with 21 points whiles New Edubiase
is fifth with 28 points.
Medeama is currently struggling in the league as their top marksman Luis Agyeman is
no where to be found but New Edubiase will also be trekking without their goal
poacher Emmanuel Baffoe who is likely to feature for the Black Stars tonight in
their friendly game against Chile in far away Philadelphia.
African Champions League Campaigners Berekum Chelsea will welcome Wa All Stars to
the Berekum Golden City Park in a match which will go beyond just the three points
but everything about football.
All Stars is third on the ladder with 29 points whiles Chelsea is sixth with 27
points. Chelsea is yet to prove a point on the local scene after picking their first
three points in their first champion’s league outing in far away Liberia.
On the other hand, All Stars have paid their dues on the local front and their
position on the table is no fluke as they are tactically astute. Should Chelsea sit
up then they will certainly carry the three points at stake but should they leave
their back loose then All Stars could surprise them.
The scientific soccer lads Liberty Professionals will play as host to the Mysterious
Ebusua Dwarfs at the Carl Reindorf Park in Dansoman. In the first match at Cape
Coast, Dwarfs suffered a real humiliation from Liberty and would like to turn the
deficit this time around.
Dwarfs occupy the fourth spot with 28 points whiles Liberty is ninth with 22 points
and would want to grab the three points at stake but Dwarfs have other ideas.
At the Kpando Park, Hearts of Lions will welcome struggling Berekum Arsenals. Lions
are eleventh on the table with 20 points whiles Arsenal is third from the bottom
with just 14 points.
Bottomed club Wassaman united will play as guest to Tema Youth at the Tema Astro
turf park in community 3. Tema Youth is twelfth on the ladder with 19 points whiles
Wassaman humbly lies at the bottom with only 12 points.
Tema Youth looks the better side to carrying the three points at stake but like it
happened to Hearts last Sunday, Wassaman can surprise Tema Youth.
At the Bechem Park, Bechem united will entertain Mighty Jets in an out-of-relegation
affair. Bechem is second from bottom on the log with 13 points whiles Mighty Jets is
thirteenth with 19 points.
