Tamale, May 25, GNA - Visiting Kpando Heart of Lions on Sunday humbled Real Tamale United (RTU) at their favourite home grounds with a humiliating four zero defeat at the Tamale Sports Stadium in their outstanding Onetouch Premier League encounter.

The heavy defeat is the first time in the history of the premiership that a club has been able to humiliate RTU with such a marginal score in Tamale since the team joined the premiership in 1976 and it was no surprise when after the game some of the supporters openly registered their displeasure at the management team of the club. Real Tamale United started the match with much enthusiasm and created some beautiful scoring chances in the first ten minutes of the game and won seven corner-kicks within the same period but could not utilise any of them.

Their output gave false hope to the teeming fans and supporters that RTU was in to win the match but their dominance was short-lived as the visitors' first chance at goal in the 21st minute silenced the almost empty stadium when Edward Owusu Ansah shot from about 20 metres to open the scoring.

The supporters were however not disturbed about the early goal since they had the hope that RTU could come from behind to win the day but a second goal in the 31st minute by Osei Banahene sent fears unto the spines of the fans.

The well-composed players of Lions played confidently and received applause from the spectators, uncharacteristic of fans in Tamale but they failed to translate their various scoring chances into goals to increase the tally with the RTU lads rather chasing them for balls. There was however still hope written in the faces of the supporters, fans and management of the home team for either a draw or for even with the hope that RTU could still win the day but Dominic Adiya sunk all hopes for the home side when he increased his side's goal tally to three in the 52nd minute.

The third goal seemed to demoralize the RTU lads and from then they could no longer find their rhythm as they resorted to faulty passes and also finding it difficult to the centre line into their opponents' goal area.

A defensive blunder in the 76th minute gifted the visitors with the fourth goal when in an attempt to clear the ball a defender lost it to Banahene who made no mistake in beating goalkeeper Charles Kipo to score his personal second goal and the fourth goal for his side.

It was obvious on the day that luck was on the side of RTU for not conceding more goals since the confident and well-composed visitors with a good number of their players in the local Black Stars' squad pursuing for more goals that never came.

RTU used various means to redeem at least a goal but all was in vain before Class One referee Charles Tagoe from Berekum whistled to bring proceedings to and end with RTU being hammered RTU 0-4 by Lions. 25 May 08
