Obuasi, April 11, GNA — New Edubiase F.C. played a highly determined game to hold Accra Hearts of Oak to a goalless drawn game in their 26th Week Glo Premier League match played at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Sunday.
Hearts goalkeeper Philemon McCarthy was the savour for his side as he made three clear saves from efforts by Edubiase's Seidu Bansit, Eric Fordjour and Jojo Bossman all in the first half.
New Edubiase who played an all attacking game right from the kick-off, gave the defence of Hearts no breathing space as Bansit and Bossman, a former player of Hearts shot at goal in the 28th and 42nd minutes but they could not beat the alert keeper of Hearts.
Hearts came into the picture briefly when they got an opportunity in the 33rd minute but Douglas Nkrumah messed up the chance with only keeper Kwaku Ofori at his mercy while Eric Gawu also shot wide at goal.
The Phobians who looked tired during the second half allowed New Edubiase to pin them into their own half but Bansit and Moro Ibrahim shots at goal in the 48th and 50th minutes were all saved by keeper McCarthy.
Richard Atika and Tetteh Nortey also former players Hearts and Carlos Coffie of New Edubiase were yellow-carded by Referee Seidu Bomison for rough play.
At the Anane Boateng stadium at Abramkese, Kessben F.C. worsened the woes of bottom club Sekondi Hasaacas when they spanked them 2-0 in their League match.
