Okwahu United came from an eighth minute goal deficit to record a hard fought 2-1 win over visiting Cape Coast Mysterious Dwarfs in their GT Premier League match at Nkawkaw Park on Sunday.
Dwarfs kicked off and mounted pressure on Okwahu and earned a corner kick in the eighth minute, and the kick which was beautifully taken by outside right, Michael Inseiddo Mensah found center forward Douglas Mustapha who headed the ball to inside right Rashid Alawe whose shot beat keeper Emmanuel Doe for the opening goal.
Okwahu counter-attacked after the goal earning three corner kicks in a row in the 14th, 16th and 18th minutes but the attackers failed to utilize and of them.
The home team continued to attack from all angles but center forward Wisdom Abbey and inside left Ibrahim Issaka continue on several occasions shot off target.
In the 30th minute, Okwahu made amends and got needed equalizer when outside left Azuma Nelson's close range shot from substitute Thomas Avegbedor's free kick beat keeper Adamu Musa in goal for Abusua Dwarfs. Both teams exhausted their substitution lists but the changes rather benefited Okwahu who made it 2-1 a minute into the injury time when substitute Farouk Adamu's header in a goal melee deflected off the Dwarfs keeper Adamu Musa into the net for the match winner.
