The early goal sparked-off aggression between the two teams with Liberty coming close to equalizing in the 6th minute only for Ashmond Asamoah to volley a " me and you" into the waiting hands of Benjamin Mensah in goal for Olympics.

Undaunted by the early goal, Liberty did not relent in their efforts to level up but were unable to penetrate the defensive shield of Olympics.

After recess, the two teams came back producing a series of scary moments for each other but, were once again, unable to change the score-line.

Urged on by a strong home support, Olympics kept firing from all angles with the slightest chance, but try as they did, they could not locate the net.

In the dying minutes of the game, class one referee Emmanuel Mordey from Hohoe sent Liberty's George Appiah off for a wicked tackle on an Olympics player. Michael Helegbe, captain of Liberty was adjudged the best player of the game.
