Olympics win first match in Middle League

Cape Coast, Aug. 19, GNA - Accra Great Olympics brought back the smiles on the faces of their teeming supporters when they beat Tudu Mighty Jets 2-1 in their Middle League match at the Robert Mensah stadium, Cape Coast on Wednesday.

In the highly competitive match, it was Olympics who scored the opener in the 15th minute through Billard Mohammed through a goal-mouth scramble.

Mighty Jets after the goal returned the attack and after persistent pressure on their opponents, midfielder Farouk Mohammed scored the equalizer in the 44th minute.

After their return from the recess, both teams started with greater determination in an effort to carry the day but it was Olympics who had the better edge with their attack in the dying minutes of the game and went ahead to score the match winner through Billard in a goal-mouth tussel to send their fans into wild jubilation. 19 Aug. 09
