Sekondi Hasaacas goalkeeper George Owu has revealed that the delay in the commencement of the league, will affect the performance of many players as many coaches have exhausted all their pre-season training techniques’.

The start of the league is nowhere in sight following the adjournment of the court case between King Faisal football club and Aduana fc.

Many Clubs in the premiership have commenced their preseason formalities long ago all in anticipation of the start date of the new season.

“The beauty of the league will be affected because players will have lost the passion to come out and play because of the delay.”

Many Clubs have even halted their preseason training since its adding more cost to the Clubs without receiving anything in return, and this according to Owu, will affect the beauty of the game as players will either be overstretched or be less fit for the season.

“It’s becoming a real problem for all the Clubs and if the big clubs like Hearts and Kotoko are complaining, what do they expect us to do? It’s very sad that a big footballing country like Ghana will have to go through this problem and that is affecting everyone locally.”

According to him no one should complain if local based players are not invited to the senior national team because none of them are playing regularly for their Clubs.

“Playing friendly matches is not enough. There is something about the league and other competition that affects the players and the technical team, and the earlier this matter is resolved, the better it will before all of us”, Owu mentioned in an interview with sportscrusader.com.
