Power F/C Hold Real Sportive

Power F/C played a determined game to hold Tema Real Sportive to a 1-1 draw in their match played at the Tema Sports Stadium. It was Sportive who made their intention of carrying the day known after kick- off as they pinned their opponents to their own half. The incessant pressure on their opponents yielded dividend as Thomas Mensah powered them into the lead in the 14th minute.

Not deterred by the early goal, the Power attack, spearheaded by Elvis Opoku, marshalled itself into the game and nearly equalized, but Nana Yaw found his terrific shot being saved by goalkeeper James Nannor. Power earned a free-kick in the 53rd minute but failed to score as Dan Quao's shot went off target.

Sportive returned the heat once again but their attackers who were goal-shy wasted all the chances.

Power rallied and threw everything into the game and their efforts were rewarded when Fuseini More snatched the much-needed equalizer in the 78th minute.

Both teams put in more efforts from them on but tried as they did, they could not score till full time. 20 Sept 06
