Defending champions Accra Hearts of Oak's dream of winning this year's GT Premier League received a severe jolt as they were beaten 2-0 by lowly-placed Power F/C in their match at the Tema Sports Stadium. Playing as if possessed, Power made their intention of carrying the day known as they matched their opponents' boot for boot with a sustained pressure on the visitors.

The incessant pressure on Hearts no doubt yielded dividends when Charles Asamoah put Power on the winning trail in the 16th minute. In the 35th minute, Hearts substituted goalkeper Sani Mohammed who had a bad day for Eben Dida.

With Hearts goal-poacher Prince Tagoe spearheading the attack, the visitors mounted some pressure on their opponents and when an opportunity fell their way in the 43rd minute, Lawrence Adjei fumbled in front of goal to deny them a goal.

Power maintained their thin lead till the end of the first half and when the second session and when the second half resumed, it was again Power who continued to pile on the pressure and no wonder they went ahead to score the second goal in the 78th minute through Thomas Mensah.

With defeat staring at them, Hearts launched a last minute onslaught but the defenders of Power pivoted around Dan Quao, Ben Yeboah and Alex Djanie held them in check.

Kwabena Yaro of Power was adjudged the best player of the match that was efficiently handled by Referee Seidu Bomison of Wa.
