Struggling Kumasi King Faisal on Sunday played an exceptional game to add to the woes of Accra Hearts of Oak when they spanked them 2-0 in their Onetouch Premier League match a the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium. The victory, the first win for Faisal in the four-week old league was orchestrated by slippery Mickey Ofosu whose incisive passes generated both goals for his side.

With their vociferous fans supporting them, Faisal announced their intention of carrying the game just under the first minute when Collins Addo in the post for Hearts was tested.

Faisal went ahead to draw the first blood in the seventh minute through Abedi Sarfo who completed a perfect through pass from a Samad Oppong cross over a fast fading Hearts team. A well-coordinated move initiated by Ofosu also saw Oppong scoring the second goal for Faisal.

Sensing danger, Hearts coach Abdul Karim Zito introduced Ernest Okyere for Nana Egyir in the 30th minute to improve on the porous defence of the Phobians.

Hearts lifted their game in the dying minutes of the first half but veteran goalkeeper Osei Boateng was on target to deal perfectly with all their efforts at goal.

The Phobians completed their substitution by the 60th minute, with Isaac Oduro and Robert Aryeetey replacing Okyere and Michael Asante, who were overpowered by the Faisal midfielders.

Faisal took absolute command of the game with their defence, midfield and attack co-ordinating proceedings superbly. In the 62nd and 70th minutes, Faisal brought on Enoch Ebo Andoh and Alhaji Alhassan but their presence could not alter the score line till Wa-based referee Yakubu Nuhu brought proceedings to an end. 16 Dec. 07
