Tamale, June 21, (GNA - Real Tamale United (RTU) on Saturday survived a Great Olympics' scare when they came from a goal down to win the maximum three points to register two goals in their Onetouch Premier League match played at the Tamale Sports stadium. RTU dominated play for the first 20 minutes of the first half but squandered a lot of scoring chances to give hope to their supporters. Sulemana Kamel nearly opened the scoring for RTU but failed to properly position himself to find the net after dribbling his way past the Olympics goalkeeper. The 'Wonder Club' however took the lead in the 38th minute when Bortey Borketey beat an offside trap set by the homesters and beautifully delivered a thunderbolt of a shot, which goalkeeper Mohammed Opass had no answer to.

RTU nearly came on level terms when Abdul Salam meandered his way through the defence of Olympics and gave a beautiful pass to Kamel but the striker again failed to find the net and try as they did to redeem the goal it proved futile until the end of the first half. Real Tamale United quickly got the equalizer two minutes after resumption for the second half when Fatawu Mohammed Owen headed beautifully from a free kick to equalize for his side in the 47th minute. The equaliser gingered the RTU players who displayed their antics to the admiration and applause from the partisan home crowd who had misgivings about what they termed was poor officiating.

RTU increased the tally to two through Kabiru Imoro but the assistant referee two disallowed it and the decision nearly marred the beauty of the game. The much awaited goal by the homesters however came in the 80th minute through skilful Abdul Salam who after receiving a pass from Alhassan Weah and seeing that the goalkeeper was already displaced made no mistake to put RTU in the lead. All efforts by RTU to increase the lead proved futile until proceedings were brought to an end with the final scoring being 2 - 1 against relegation threatened Accra Great Olympics.
