Real Tamale United (RTU) on Sunday pleased their supporters in Tamale and beyond when they played a well rehearsed game to beat visiting Power FC 3-0 at the Kaladan Park to register their first win in the ongoing One Touch Premier League.

Before the match, the supporters were chanting victory songs for RTU in anticipation of success for the club, which until today, had not won a match.

Both teams had balanced goal scoring chances in the first half, but it was RTU who were always on the offensive good play from Alhassan Weah and Joseph Adjei, but they could not find the net.

In the 32nd minute Power FC nearly silenced the home side when Daniel Quao's free kick from close to the RTU 18 thundered against the post and thereafter, pressure kept piling on RTU but the visitors failed to find the net.

Two minutes into added time in the first half, when it appeared the half was going to end on a barren reckoning, Alhassan Weah, who is frequently referred to as the "Pillar" of RTU received a pass and delivered a shot, which Humphrey Amoah in goal for Power could not save, thus putting the homers in the lead before the break.

As soon as power passed the ball, a Kumasi based class one referee, Reginald Larthebridge whistled for recess.

During the second half both teams made some substitutions to strengthen their sides, but the changes went in favour of RTU as they were able to increase the tally.

On 79 minutes, Alhassan Weah had a chance to increase the tally to two but the goalkeeper parried his header to corner. Hannan Giwa made no mistake when he had a good chance from Joseph Adjei's corner kick and he slotted the ball in for RTU in the 80th minute to increase the tally to two.

Five minutes later, Joseph Adjei tailored the ball to Abass Iddrisu who made no mistake to register his name on the scoring sheet in the 85th minute to make it three for RTU.

Power FC tried very had to redeem some of the goals but luck eluded them when Yaw Kwabena, who came in a substitute for Thomas Mensah always shot off target.

During four minutes of added time, RTU nearly made it four but Mohammed Fatawu stood in the path of Alhassan Wea's shot to defend for the visitors..

The pressure kept mounting on the visitors but as much as RTU tried they couldn't increase the tally until referee Larthebridge brought proceedings to an end. 05 Nov. 06
