Accra, Nov 10, GNA - The struggle by newly promoted side, Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord to remain in the Premiership seems to coming to a bleak end after suffering a painful defeat at the hands of Real Sportive at the El-Wak Sports Stadium in Accra on Wednesday.

The Academy boys lost by a lone goal scored in the dying minutes of the match after they had battled the home team boot for boot throughout the duration of the game.

Feyenoord still remains second from the bottom of the Zone 'B' league table with ten points and will need to win their last two matches before dreaming of survival in the elite league.

Though Feyenoord were the better side, they were unlucky not to carry the day as they squandered series of scoring chances with Iddi Yekini and Dominic Adijah as the worse culprits whilst the Sportive lads created less chances in the game.

The lack of focus exhibited in front of goal dominated the game as both sides seemed to be short of ideas up front to bang in the much sought for goals in a bid to escape relegation.

As the game progressed and the trend of play remained the same, it was evident that the game was heading for a goalless draw till substitute Richard Anderson pounced on a long ball floated into the area of the visitors to score in the 89th minute.

The goal however attracted the fury of Feyenoord as it was glaring that Anderson handled the ball before firing a grounder to beat keeper Philemon MacCarthy for the match winner.

Ho based referee Benedicta Wormade and assistant referee two, V.L.K. Demakpo from Hohoe had to be escorted by the Police after the match as the officials of Feyenoord led by coach Ato Hammond together with some of their supporters charged on the match officials.
