The home team carried the match to their opponents with series of attacks right from the blast of the referee's whistle and succeeded in taking the lead in the fourth minute courtesy Wahab Yahaya. On resumption from the recess, Edubiase FC concentrated their game plan in the midfield and occasionally surged upfront in search of at least a face saving goal but poor shooting up front denied them of the needed goals. Wahab however sealed the doom of the visitors with the third goal in the 87th minute when he intercepted a pass in the midfield and raced deep into the opponent's goal area before letting go a thunderbolt which zoomed straight into the net to send the vociferous King Faisal supporters into wild jubilation as the referee's whistle went for the end of proceedings.
