Accra, June 8, GNA - Zaytuna United maintained their impressive home run in the second round of the Onetouch Premier League when they beat Sekondi Hasaacas 2-1 in their 23rd Week clash at the El-Wak Stadium, Accra on Sunday.

Zaytuna who have scored in every home game this round, went up on the 26th minute through Afranie Yeboah against the run of play when he made the better of a second effort after Hasaacas goalie Joseph Addo parried his initial attempt into play.

Hasaacas had the better of the exchanges and were gifted with a perfect opportunity to draw level four minutes later but striker David Annars blasted wide with only Zaytuna's goalie Tetteh Lugard to beat. The visitors kept their hold onto their dominance but their efforts at goal were thwarted by Zaytuna's central defender Osei Bonsu who covered every inch of grass at the back.

On the half hour mark, Hasaccas were gifted with the brightest chance of the half but Annars saw his goal bound shot scooped off the goal line by an evergreen Bonsu to keep their lead intact. Despite Hasaacas' control of the game, it was the homers who found the net the second time, through Frank Boateng four minutes to the end of the first half.

The goal came from a goal mouth action when Boateng fired at goal with goalie Addo seeming to have blocked the effort only for the ball to be dangling in the net to the surprise of all. Hasaacas resumed the second half with the same momentum and succeeded in pulling one back through Annars on 52 minutes. It was striker Frederick Quayson who laid a perfect pass to Annars who collected the ball on his chest before rounding Zaytuna's goalie Lugard to place the ball into an empty net.

The newly promoted side, Zaytuna struggled to find their rhythm and further cursed their stars after Boateng's thunderbolt from a free-kick grazed the crossbar in the 76th minute.

Hasaacas who made series of substitutions, piled pressure on their opponents in their quest to draw parity but the Zaytuna defence marshalled around Bonsu, Shadrack Kyei and Samuel Solomon proved impregnable till proceedings came to an end. 08 June 08
